Ravichandran Ashwin, despite all the talk about his skills, hasn’t been doing well for Rajasthan Royals in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). Padam, who is a commentator for this IPL season, talked about Ashwin’s difficulties. Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was sitting next to him, criticized Ashwin. He said Ashwin wasn’t trying to take wickets; instead, he was just trying to stop the batters from scoring runs.
Sidhu said, “He’s scared of getting hit by the batters. That’s why he’s not trying to take wickets. A top bowler like Ashwin should be trying to get wickets, not just trying to stop the batters from scoring.”
In the match against Gujarat Titans, Ashwin gave away 40 runs in his four overs and didn’t take any wickets. This affected Rajasthan Royals’ chances of winning. Gujarat Titans chased down the target of 197 runs and won the match on the last ball, with Rashid Khan hitting a four.

Because of Ashwin’s poor performance, there’s a possibility that he might be dropped from the team in the upcoming matches.
