In the IPL 2013 season, a shocking incident took place in the KKR dressing room at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium. This involved former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary and the renowned Gautam Gambhir, a hero from the 2011 World Cup.
Tiwary, who had recently retired from first-class cricket, shared details of his altercation with Gambhir. He joined KKR in 2010 after playing for Delhi Daredevils, becoming an important player for the team. He even helped KKR win the title in 2012 by scoring the winning boundary in the final against Chennai Super Kings.
However, things turned sour between Tiwary and Gambhir. The incident occurred during a match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, where Gambhir, the captain at the time, threatened Tiwary. He reportedly said, “You meet me outside after the match, I’ll see you. You are finished today.” These words were spoken in a way that many people could hear, including journalists present at the venue.

Despite the altercation, Tiwary expressed regret over the incident. He mentioned that he usually had a good relationship with senior players but the fight gave him a bad reputation. He recalled his previous good relationship with Gambhir and how they used to discuss team matters during their time together at KKR. However, their relationship deteriorated after the incident.

Tiwary’s departure from KKR ahead of the 2014 season marked the end of his time with the franchise.
