Australia has announced preliminary squad for the ICC World Cup 2023. The whole Australian team is listed below, along with player news and injury updates.
Nathan Ellis was left out of Australia’s initial World Cup team, while Glenn Maxwell returned to the team. They have till September 28 to finalize their roster.
Pat Cummins, one of four specialist fast bowlers in the team joined by Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Sean Abbott, as well as pace-bowling all-rounders Cam Green, Mitchell Marsh, and Marcus Stoinis.
The spin assault, on the other hand, appears to be relatively sparse, with Adam Zampa and the all-rounders – Ashton Agar and Maxwell – making up the unit, despite the fact that some of their batters roll their arm over.

They have a lethal opening pair in Marsh and Travis Head. David Warner will most likely drop to accommodate at the top, as he did earlier this year in India, although he can be deployed as needed.
The unit is completed by wicketkeeper Alex Carey and batsmen Steve Smith and Josh Inglis (who also serves as reserve wicketkeeper). Their large number of all-rounders gives them depth in both batting and bowling, making them a tournament favorite.
Australia is the most successful team in Men’s World Cup history, having won five trophies in 1987 (in the Indian subcontinent), 1999 (in the British Isles), 2003 (in Africa), 2007 (in the West Indies), and 2015 (in Australia and New Zealand). No other squad has ever won three times.
