Former England captain, Nasser Hussain said, “this Indian batter is mentally strong”

In 2023, Virat Kohli made a smashing comeback in cricket, especially in ODI matches. After a tough time in 2022 with no centuries in any international games, Virat Kohli had a remarkable year in 2023. He played 35 innings and scored a whopping 2048 runs with an average of 66.06. That’s a lot! He hit eight centuries and 10 half-centuries in total.

Guess what? Six of those centuries were in ODI cricket, and in the 2023 World Cup alone, he scored three centuries. This made him break Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most centuries in ODI cricket and became the first player to get 50 centuries in ODI cricket.

Nasser Hussain, the former England captain, praised Virat Kohli a lot, saying he seems mentally strong, which is great for him and the Indian cricket team.

Hussain also talked about how technically good Virat Kohli was playing, breaking records and getting lots of attention. In the World Cup, Virat Kohli scored a massive 765 runs in just 11 innings, averaging 95.62. That’s more runs than anyone has ever scored in a single World Cup! Tendulkar held that record before in 2003.

Hussain noticed how well Virat Kohli batted, especially in Mumbai against Sri Lanka. He was in excellent positions and playing shots that sounded great off the bat. It’s a good sign for Kohli, his fans, and India because it shows he’s in a good mental space and playing really well.

Virat Kohli also showed his good form in Test cricket recently against South Africa. In the first match, he scored 38 runs in the first innings and had a solid partnership of 68 runs with Shreyas Iyer.

Even in the second innings, where India struggled, Virat Kohli fought hard, scoring 76 runs off 82 balls. He was one of the only two Indian players to score in double digits. The other was Shubman Gill, who got 26 runs off 37 balls.

It’s clear that Virat Kohli bounced back in style in 2023, breaking records and playing exceptionally well in ODI matches and even showing promise in Test cricket. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what more he’ll achieve in 2024!
