There are few reports in media stating that Yashasvi Jaiswal said, “I want to play at No.3 in ODI world Cup which is happening in India. This is my dream, I hope Rohit Bhaiya considers me”.
After reading it we thought this can’t be true. Young batsman like Yashasvi Jaiswal won’t make such statement even before getting selected in Team India squad. So, our team did fact check on it, here is the result.
It is said that Yashasvi Jaiswal made this statement after Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals Match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Rajasthan Royals won that match by 9 wickets.
While batting first KKR made 149/8 in 20 overs. While chasing this total Rajasthan won the match by o wickets in just 13.1 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 26 runs in first over of Nitish Rana. He made record during this match.

In his entire conversation he never mentioned about playing for India at No.3 in ODI World Cup. So the statement attributed to him is “Fake Statement”.
After the match one Rohit Sharma fan @45fan_Prathmesh on twitter posted this statement for fun. He also added that Jaiswal was emotional while saying this.
And people started believing it to be true. Some fans in comment praised Yashasvi Jaiswal for boldness and some criticized him for being arrogant and not respecting Virat Kohli. It was all for fun.
But some media websites also fall for it and considered it to be true and published report on it without verifying the facts. It resulted into some fans giving hate to Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Our team found that Yashasvi Jaiswal did not said anything related to playing at NO.3 in ODI World Cup. It’s a completely Fake Statement.
