Afghanistan team will face Bangladesh in 3rd match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Dharamshala stadium. Both teams are looking forward to start their World Cup campaign on positive note.
Former Afghanistan batting coach made a bold statement regarding Afghanistan national cricket team. Umesh Patwal said that Afghanistan team can defeat few big teams in Cricket World Cup 2023.
He said that Indian pitches are spin friendly and Afghanistan side has quality spinners like Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb, young bowler Noor Ahmed they can cause troubles for top teams like defending champion England, New Zealand and 5 times World Cup winner Australia.

While talking with the media Patwal said Afghanistan can deliver few shocking upsets in World Cup against two top team. He included England, Australia, New Zealand and Bangladesh in that list
Afghanistan spinners Rashid Khan, Mohammed Nabi have advantage while playing in India in Indian conditions. Afghanistan batting is mostly dependent on their wicket keeping batsman Ramanullah Gurbaz, captain Shahidi and Rehmat Shah. All-rounder Nabi would be very useful for them in this competition given his experience and the way he has been playing for the past year, Patwal said.
Umesh Patwal worked with Afghanistan team as a batting coach in the past. He is now working with Goa women’s team as a batting consultant.

When asked if Afghanistan was a threat to Rohit Sharma and company, he responded, “No, there is no worry for India, because when they play versus Indian players, they fall to pressure due to psychological fear and inferior mentality.”
Afghanistan team once again will try their luck on Cricket World Cup 2023 Prize Pool. Afghanistan has very bad experience in World Cup Tournament. During 2015 Cricket World Cup Afghanistan team only managed to register one victory against Scotland. And 2019 Cricket World Cup was embarrassment for the Afghanistan team. Afghanistan lost all matches in 2019 World Cup. Let’s see what happens in this tournament. Afghanistan will be opening their tournament against Bangladesh on Oct 07, 2023.
